West Bountiful is its own city in Davis County, Utah, separate from Bountiful, which borders it on the east. Woods Cross lies to the south and Centerville to the north. The 2020 Census counted 5,917 people.
Morning
A West Bountiful morning can start on old Onion Street. Today it's 800 West, and City Hall sits on it. In the 1920s, George Mann came home with one pound of Yellow Sweet Spanish onion seed, and local farmers planted it. From 1928 to 1938, the city says, 200 to 300 train loads of onions left West Bountiful each year. Four pickleball courts sit just south of City Hall, first come, first served, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Then try Penny Ann's Cafe on 500 West, which says it creates an East Coast diner atmosphere with homemade comfort food.
Afternoon
West Bountiful City Park sits on Pages Lane, next to I-15. A 0.8-mile walking trail surrounds it, with three baseball fields and two sand volleyball courts inside. The city says its six-hoop basketball court is Utah Jazz certified, which is more than most driveways can claim. A covered bowery holds up to 300 people and has a stage. For lunch, Santorini's Greek Grill is at The Commons at West Bountiful, also on 500 West. Or play a round at Lakeside Golf Course, the city's 18-hole course on 1100 West.
Evening
On the second Friday of most months, West Bountiful's Arts Council hosts a free concert at City Hall, from 7 to 8 p.m. The council, founded in 2005, skips June, July, August and December. City parks stay open until 10:30 p.m. There's no FrontRunner stop in town. The Woods Cross station is 1.4 road miles from City Hall, and the Utah State Capitol is 9.3. In neighboring Bountiful, the South Davis Recreation Center lists aquatics and an ice rink.
Seasons
West Bountiful marks Independence Day twice over. The city's annual carnival and fireworks show comes to City Park around the holiday. In 2026 the city scheduled it for July 3, with food trucks, a concert and fireworks at 10 p.m. On the Fourth, the annual flag raising starts at City Hall at 7:30 a.m., and the annual parade follows at 10. The town's story is older than the fireworks. James Fackrell, Sr. was told of a place with fresh springs and clear creeks, and he began to farm here. From 1848 to 1855, homesteaders paid one dollar an acre.

No. West Bountiful is a separate city with its own City Hall at 550 North 800 West. It became a town in 1948 and a city in 1962, and Bountiful borders it on the east.

Can you take FrontRunner from West Bountiful?

Why was 800 West once called Onion Street?
Many of West Bountiful's onion farms were on that street. The city says 200 to 300 train loads of onions were shipped from West Bountiful each year from 1928 to 1938.
