Living in Clinton

Clinton is a city in northern Davis County, Utah, on the Weber County line. Roy and Hooper lie to the north, West Point to the west and south, Clearfield to the southeast, and Sunset to the east. The 2020 Census counted 23,386 people.

Morning

Clinton's coffee can come from Beans & Brews, on North 2000 West. The Utah-born coffeehouse says it roasts its beans at high altitude, 4,404 feet to be exact. Then walk it off at Civic Center Park, beside City Hall, where a 1.2-mile path circles the park. It's the city's longest park path, and one of two paths where dogs may join you. The Denver and Rio Grande Rail Trail is 0.7 road miles from City Hall. With the Canal Trail, it makes up the city's two main trails.

Afternoon

Clinton's Pond Park has a fishing pond and a 0.55-mile path, and the city lists it for waterfowl watching. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources counts Clinton Park Pond among its community fishing waters. Prefer dirt under your nails? The city lists 36 free garden spaces for residents. Most are 20 by 20 feet, and each has its own water spigot. People commonly called this ground The Range, Sand Ridge, The Basin and The Summit. That's a lot of names for one place, and in 1936 it became the town of Clinton.

Evening

Clinton's evening can include a stop at FiiZ, a soda shop listed at 2212 West 1800 North. For books, the county's Syracuse Branch Library serves Clinton and stays open until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The closest FrontRunner stop is Roy Station, 4.9 road miles from City Hall. Ogden's Union Station is 8.1 road miles from City Hall. Back in the 1870s, when James Hill settled here, drinking water was hauled in from the Weber River. A kitchen tap looks pretty good by comparison.

Seasons

Clinton scheduled Heritage Days for June 8 to 13, 2026, with a car show, a community barbecue and a movie in the park. The schedule closed with a morning parade on June 13 and fireworks that night at Civic Center Park. The 2026 week also listed an art and photo show and pickleball tournaments. The city's 2026 calendar added a Turkey Trot run and walk in November and a Blitzen Bash with holiday lights in December.
